Lucero: When I Was Young

I recently had the opportunity to see one of my favorite bands play live, Lucero, and I have been listening to them ever since. Ben Nichols has always been a storyteller about losing your best girl and hoping she comes back to you. He also paints vivid pictures of wanting to be on the road and endless nights drinking. In 2012 the band released their record “Women and Work” which has the piano as a main driving instrument and is more upbeat than their previous records.

One of the best songs from this album is “When I Was Young” which has a catchy riff played throughout as Nichols fondly sings about his younger days. Check it out above.
