I have started listening to a lot of 80s music and music inspired bu the 80s recently and wanted to include some of those songs on Captive Balance. First up is Kavinsky’s “Nightcall.” This song has an uneasy feel to it that reminds me of a midnight horror movie. Someone is being chased down a dark alley and the audience does not know if the person is going to survive this menacing force. Check it out below.
TweetLofi hip-hop has become my favorite genre for writing. The mellow beat and eclectic instruments provide a soothing background to my thoughts. “Whenever It Rains, I Feel So Free” is a short track but it is enough time for personal reflection. Check it out below.
TweetMoaning is a Los Angeles post-punk band that released their debut studio album earlier this year. “Artificial” is one of the best tracks from the album with its melodic guitar riffs. Check it out below.
TweetFrom album to album, Blood Orange continues to surprise me. Devonte Hynes seems to always produce a fantastic album from opening track to closing note. Negro Swan is another rewarding listen from the British singer-songwriter. “Jewelry” is one of the best tracks from the album with its atmospheric sound. Check it out below.
