After releasing the excellent and heavy “16 Psyche,” Chelse Wolfe has shared a new song with the world. “Vex” is an eerie and dark track that features Wolfe’s whispery vocals over thunderous guitars. The song has guest vocals from Aaron Turner of Isis fame. Check it out.
Chelsea Wolfe has a beautiful and haunting voice that is further emphasized on the acoustic track “Flatlands.” The guitar gently moves along as violins sweep in to lift and carry Wolfe’s vocals. Check it out below.
Let me tell you when I first fell in love with Chelsea Wolfe’s music. About a year and a half ago, I was looking for new music that could fit under the dark ambient category and somehow youtube brought me to Wolfe’s “Tracks (Tall Bodies)” song. It took one listen to completely hook me and I have been listening to her ever since. Her dark lyrics and heavy guitar chords resound perfectly on rainy days and nights.
Great news came to my attention today with Wolfe’s new single “16 Psyche” which further expands upon the sound from her last album Abyss. You can literally feel the dark weight descend upon you and leave you wanting more.
I have finally got around to listening to Chelsea Wolfe. After more than a year of constantly saying that I would take the time to check her out, I did so today. I have to say that I am more than impressed with her sound. Usually, gothic rock can be gimmicky and cheesy, but Wolfe’s music is phenomenal.
“Tracks (Tall Bodies)” is one of the best tracks from her second album “Apokalypsis”. The track is beyond dark and features Wolfe’s ethereal voice. Check it out.
