Big Sean: Living Single feat. Chance the Rapper and Jeremih

“Living Single” is one of my favorite songs from Big Sean. The beat which was produced by Camobi is super chill and I like Big Sean’s flow on the song. I always felt that Big Sean had the potential to be a truly great rapper if only he stepped up on his lyrics. He has the same delivery as fellow slow rapper Mase but the lyrics can be a struggle to listen to.

Shlohmo & Jeremih- No More

As you know I am a fan of singer Jeremih who specializes in the midnight hour R&B. He manages to produce a vibe or tone that makes his music instantly recognizable. “No More” is an EP collaboration between Jeremih and producer Shlohmo that mixes electronica with hip hop inspired beats. The self-titled song “No More” has a sporadic beat that stutters constantly as Jeremih lets his vocals flow over the track. Check it out above.

10. Jeremih: Late Nights

7. Jamie xx: In Colour

6. Vince Staples: Summertime ’06

5. Drake: If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late

4. Earl Sweatshirt: I Don’t Like Shit I Don’t Go Outside

3. Leon Bridges: Coming Home

Jeremih: Oui

I am very picky when it comes to contemporary R&B. There are a lot of singers whose lyrics are just absolutely terrible with its oversexed vibe. ┬áRecently a few R&B artists have pushed the boundaries of the genre and have made it interesting to listen to again. Jeremih is one of those artists especially with his new song “Oui”. It is catchy song with an eclectic beat that features Jeremih’s highly praised vocals. Check it out above.
